Housewife is a multiplayer
What is a housewife before I tell my story?
A housewife, also referred to as a homemaker, is typically a woman responsible for managing the household and attending to domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, childcare, and other household duties. The term “housewife” is commonly used to describe a woman who has chosen to focus on her role within the home and family, rather than pursuing a career outside the home.
It’s essential to recognize that the role of a housewife has evolved over time, and in modern society, many women choose to balance their domestic responsibilities with careers or other pursuits. Additionally, the term “homemaker” is often used as a more gender-neutral and inclusive alternative to “housewife” to acknowledge that homemaking responsibilities can be shared by individuals of any gender within a household.
Housewife is a multiplayer
I occasionally become a multiplayer. Have I accomplished this much during this time? Surprisingly so. Proud and gratified as if it were yesterday. There’s always something I do on Sundays. Making potions. That’s our chosen nickname. During the weekdays, the sandwich I make for my husband’s breakfast. It’s a continuation of the playful spirit we had while gaming together. I’ve been making it every Sunday. A sandwich that keeps my husband healthy.
Preparing ingredients
The first thing I do is boil eggs. They’re the protein source for the sandwich. Above all, he loves them. I used to make various kinds of sandwiches, from tuna to ham and cheese, but among them, he likes the egg mayo sandwich the most. So, today, it’s this menu again. However, I’m a multiplayer. I can’t just make this. Boiling eggs takes 11 minutes. It’s a waste of time. I went to the front door to get the shoes I wore yesterday. And I sprayed warm water and detergent on them.
Cleaning
Then I pick up the vacuum cleaner. Hair and dust scattered everywhere. Vacuuming from the bedroom through the living room to the kitchen, swiftly with the vacuum cleaner. I neatly arrange the cushions on the sofa. Around this time, the timer goes off. The eggs are boiled. Now they need to be cooled down. I pour hot water into the sink and fill it with cold water. While waiting for the eggs to cool, I go back to the bathroom. I quickly brush the shoes I soaked earlier. Then, I stand them up to let the excess water drain.
Making sandwich
Then I return to the kitchen to change the cold water for the eggs. In fact, I changed it several times throughout. I can’t forget that I’m multitasking. Hot eggs don’t cool down all at once. This time, I’m preparing dinner to eat later. Since my dear ordered bulgogi for today, I decide to wash some perilla leaves for wrapping. It will make dinner more convenient. Might as well make good use of the extra time. Efficiency changes with these spare moments. The sense of accomplishment is also significantly different.
Listening to audiobooks
Oh, right. There’s one more thing I do while carrying out all of the above activities. Learning. Whether it’s an audiobook, a lecture, or someone’s experiences, I listen to various stories from different worlds through my ears while moving my hands and feet busily, almost like a robot. With my earphones on. While doing this, I think. What can I learn from here? What can I immediately apply to myself? Sometimes, when inspiration strikes, I pause briefly to jot down notes, and at other times, I just let it flow and keep listening.
From boiling eggs to cleaning the house, washing shoes, preparing dinner, making potions, tidying up the kitchen, and even studying – all of these tasks were accomplished in just 4 hours. They were done simultaneously. Someone might say, “You’re quick, aren’t you?” Not at all. I used to be a slow person, trying to do everything perfectly, which actually made me very slow. What I’ve realized is that it’s okay not to be perfect. Mistakes can be corrected.
